NDOW FISHING DAY, RYE PATCH RESERVOIR - APRIL 24TH
Attending Ghosts of the Jungle? Even if you are not you should join us for this fishing adventure on Rye patch Reservoir. Both spin and fly fishing options available, all gear (Waders, boots, float tubes, etc) provided in conjunction with the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Open to veterans of all services, shoot us an email of you want to attend.
GHOSTS OF THE JUNGLE - APRIL 25TH
Ghosts of the Jungle is a Vietnam War–themed tactical shooting event honoring the warriors of MACV-SOG, the USMC, and all Vietnam veterans. Hosted by Task Force Garrison, this immersive experience blends history, marksmanship, and camaraderie through live-fire stages inspired by jungle warfare operations. Competitors will face challenging courses of fire, period weapon displays, and themed awards—including the coveted HATHCOCK/MAWHINNEY Trophy and the infamously fun “Worst Shooter” prize. Step into the wire, pay tribute, and walk among the legends.
KNOTT CREEK RESERVOIR -FLY FISHING EXPEDITION MAY 28-30
Knott Creek is a gem of a fly fishing location. Located high on the boundaries of the Pine Forest Range Wilderness area. Noted as a trophy fishery, we will be chasing down Tiger Trout, Rainbows, and Cutbows. 2 nights, 3 days and fully supported in partnership with the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Get onboard, this is always a great time.
THE NEVADASTAN INITIATIVE- OCTOBER 10TH, 2026
The Nevadastan Initiative is Task Force Garrison’s modern-day homage to unconventional warfare, blending historical inspiration with real-world purpose. Built around immersive training events in the Nevada backcountry, the initiative channels the spirit of programs like Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group while supporting a mission far larger than recreation. Through scenario-driven field exercises, historical education, and strategic partnerships, participants help fund and raise awareness for Bright Light Continuum: our ongoing effort to assist in locating and bringing home American POW/MIA personnel still unaccounted for in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
At its core, Nevadastan gives veterans, first responders, and patriots a renewed sense of mission by transforming training into tangible impact. What starts in the Nevada desert as a high-trust, high-consequence experience ultimately supports a very real promise: leave no one behind.
A little clandestine flavor, a lot of purpose... and just enough plausible deniability.
Task Force Garrison Upland Academy -November 7th, 2026

For Marines Who Can’t Hunt Chukar Good and Wanna Learn Other Outdoor Stuff Good Too
Task Force Garrison, in official partnership with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, proudly presents the inaugural Task Force Garrison Upland Academy.
Built primarily for United States Marine Corps veterans, this introductory upland bird hunting experience is designed to introduce participants to Nevada chukar hunting, conservation, firearms safety, and the unique brotherhood that forms somewhere between sagebrush, steep terrain, and questionable cardio decisions.
The event will operate from our private range facility outside Rye Patch Reservoir, Nevada, with field operations extending into the surrounding upland terrain known to hold wild chukar throughout the season.
While Marine Corps veterans are the primary focus of this event, veterans from all branches are welcome to attend provided they can successfully complete the highly selective and deeply scientific Fleet Marine Force Corpsman initiation process. Standards may include caffeine tolerance, profanity comprehension, and the ability to carry excessive amounts of gear uphill while being yelled at affectionately.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction covering:
- Upland bird hunting fundamentals
- Chukar behavior and habitat
- Firearm safety and shotgun familiarization
- Clay target shooting
- Ethical hunting and conservation practices
- Mountain movement and field considerations
No gear? No problem. Loaner shotguns will be available for participants who need them.
No Hunter’s Education certification yet? Nevada apprentice hunting opportunities may allow you to participate while deciding if upland bird hunting is something you want to pursue further.
This academy is designed for beginners and first-time hunters as much as experienced outdoorsmen. Nobody is expected to show up as an expert. The goal is mentorship, camaraderie, conservation, and introducing veterans to a lifelong outdoor pursuit that has a funny way of becoming an obsession.

THE NEVADASTAN INITIATIVE- A BRIGHT LIGHT CONTINUUM MISSION
The Nevadastan Initiative is Task Force Garrison’s modern evolution of unconventional warfare training, built for those who miss operating with purpose and those who want something far beyond a standard range day. Imagine Afghanistan colliding with the Cold War, the Vietnam War, and modern cartel conflict... all unfolding in the Nevada backcountry. It’s an immersive tactical experience where participants step into a fictional mission set against a very real cause.
The overall objective is simple: recover high-value intelligence that leads to information tied to the remaining American POW/MIA personnel still unaccounted for in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. While the mission scenario itself is fictional, the end result is very real. Proceeds and awareness generated through this event directly support Bright Light Continuum, Task Force Garrison’s ongoing initiative focused on helping bring America’s missing home. A fictional mission with a real result.
This event is built around teamwork, communication, and decision-making under pressure. Participants will navigate two dynamic move-and-shoot ranges, including one course where a designated team member will occupy an overwatch sniper position while the rest of the team maneuvers through the target area. Communication between ground teams and overwatch will matter, and teams are strongly encouraged. You can roll solo... but this event was built for people who understand that things tend to go smoother when someone is watching your six.
This is a true run-what-you-brung event. Bring your own rifle, pistol, and ammunition, but keep it practical. Think close-range tools: 5.56, 9mm, .45 ACP, .300 Blackout, and similar setups. No need to show up with a rifle designed to solve problems from the next zip code over. We’ll provide ammunition for the overwatch sniper position.
Bring something to take notes with. This event will unfold through mission packets, evolving intelligence, and operational details that matter. It will read like a real-world brief, and the teams paying attention will have an advantage when things start moving fast.
And perhaps most importantly... the uniform theme is completely open. Want to show up looking like a Vietnam War recon team? Cold War paramilitary asset? Modern contractor? Questionably funded cartel security chief? Desert warlord with excellent fashion sense? Outstanding. Wear whatever kit, uniforms, or questionable tactical drip you think will make this mission unforgettable. The vibe is absolutely real, and style points may quietly matter more than anyone is willing to admit.
As always, expect great prizes, solid chow, strong people, and all the extra chaos that makes Task Force Garrison events what they are. More intel to follow. Assemble your team, sharpen your note-taking skills, and prepare for one of the strangest and most purpose-driven missions we’ve built yet. Nevada is about to feel like somewhere else entirely.
